Newburyport Youth Services (www.newburyportyouthservices.com) has partnered with The Divinity Foundation (www.divinityfoundation.com) to perform service projects to protect the girls of Kenya from Female Genital Mutilation (http://www.divinityfoundation.com/projects/17-medical-aid/79-stills-fgm.html) and provide them with education and a brighter future. The first NBPT group headed over last November and a new crew is departing for Kenya this July for a continued multi-year partnership.
SAVE THE DATE for a day of amazing classes in support of this mission!
Sunday, May 21st
10 to 1045am – Barre…Meghan
Minimum of $15(cash only) donation. To get in the spirit of things, classes will be taught to African music! To put things into perspective, $1 buys a child a meal or a pack of sanitary pads for women. Beaded bracelets made by the girls from The Divinity Foundation Rescue Center will also be for sale for $5(cash only). Proceeds from the event will go directly to The Divinity Foundation as they are completing a library for the girls and need new computers.
